I woke very early in the morning to (1) take Georgie to the kennel and then (2) finish packing--fell asleep the night before without completing the task! The kennel where Georgie was dropped off is Kate's Canine Resort and it was a madhouse! Georgie gave me that look that said "Thanks a lot pal" and gave me that I am a bad pet owner feel in my stomach. In any event, got a quick oil change and ran back to the house to see that Alison had packed my suitcase. Scary---but I chose to trust her! We threw the bags into the car and we were off!!
The drive to Saint Louis was not marked with all the construction that we had remembered from our last drive (to see The Dead in concert YEARS ago) and of course stops had to be made to outlet malls. These stops really broke up the drive and I actually found some good buys ($10 jean jacket from The Gap outlet!).
The Sprint navigator initially sent is into a neighborhood that was 2 miles away from our hotel (honestly was not it's fault--TWO exact same street names and addresses literally 1.7 miles apart in Saint Louis) and after a quick cursing fit we made our way back and found the hotel with no problem. I was surprised to see that we were staying literally 6 blocks or so from the Saint Louis Rams training camp--I sighed realizing that there more than likely was not any good football training going on there to get a glimpse.
We arrived at the Spring Hill Suites and wow---that is all I have to say about this place. Great room layout (very modern), free Wi-Fi, everything about it was great! This was the cheaper of the rooms we were staying at on our trip, but realized probably would be my favorite!
So---with the drive we had time for dinner really and headed out to The Loop. Nothing eventful here, ate at the same Thai place that I have eaten at during every trip to Saint Louis and had a Ben and Jerry's for desert (just FYI---the small cone is two freaking HUGE gob scoops). Then back to the hotel for sleep and getting ready for the next phase of the journey!

Memphis Vacation!!!
So---my wife and I decided that this year we needed a vacation. It was to be something quick and easy with the intent of getting out of KC and having some time between us since our honeymoon and in anticipation of how crazy things are going to be in the near future (she is finishing up her teaching certificate at UMKC). Memphis was randomly pulled from the air---literally pulled from the air I do believe! Think the easiest way to do this would be to list out some updates by day we were gone and go from there...Hope that you enjoy!
